With PPC becoming ever more popular, in competitive niches it’s becoming very hard to stand out and edge your competitors.
In today’s article, I’m not going to mention how your ad copy needs to be more engaging or how to filter your keywords even further, rather I’m going to show you 3 very simple (yet underutilized) tips to drive and convert traffic to your site using PPC.
1. Live chat support
When a new prospect lands on your website, they will inspect your business thoroughly before even thinking about taking action.
If there’s a question that your copy hasn’t answered or there’s something missing from a product description, the majority of users will click the back button on their browser and restart their search.
Luckily, there’s a solution to such problems.
A Forrester report found that 44% of online shoppers said that having an online support rep to answer their questions was one of the most important website features an online business can have.
You don’t need to have a live customer agent sitting at the desk 24/7 either, live chat features can be run live when you’re at the office, or sent an as emails if you have no one to man the desk allowing you to reengage with them later.
If you manage a business that receives thousands of website views each day, hiring freelancers is a costeffective way to have 24/7 support without breaking the bank.
2. Get your website HTTPS secured
Chances are your website is running on HTTP (a protocol used when browsing the Internet).
HTTPs is the newest web protocol that ensures the connection between the user and your website is secure. Google already prioritizes websites which use HTTPs over HTTP for organic searches, and it won’t be too long before AdWords campaigns receive the same treatment.
HTTPs is very expensive to implement and may not be viable for your business at this moment in time, but is certainly something you should consider changing in the future when the price becomes more feasible. You can learn more about the differences of HTTP and HTTPs by checking out this article.
3. Use videos to find new prospects
The video hype is real.
Videos ads typically cost a lot less to run then text or image based ads, they receive more engagement, shares and are slowly becoming the number #1 content form online:

Videos work best at the top level of your funnel for building brand awareness. Think about creating an about us or how your product/service solves a need rather than focusing on making a sale. Since they are cheaper to run, using them to brand your business is arguably the most costeffective way to do so online.
Facebook lets you insert targeting pixels in your videos to later serve other content based on how long of your video a person viewed.
Videos don’t have to be expensive either, highquality cameras like a Gopro and a decent microphone is all you need in a lot of cases.
Summary
2016 will be the biggest year to date for PPC. Everyday more and more businesses are joining the online revolution, and you’ll continually need to come up with new ways to engage your audience, nurture and convert.
Most businesses won’t be using any of the 3 methods I’ve listed in this article, so take the lead and take action today.
