5 Reasons To Use The Power Editor Over The Adverts Manager

The past few weeks I’ve talked about several improvements made to the Facebook Power Editor. If that wasn’t enough to convince you to swap the Ads Manager for the Power Editor, today I’m going to give you 5 reasons why the Power Editor is far superior.

1. You can run more ad objectives using the Power Editor

One of the biggest advantages to using the Power Editor is the ability to create more ad objectives. At this moment in time you can setup 10 ad objectives in the Adverts Manager and 14 via the Power Editor:

You can create lead ads, event responses, product catalogue sales and desktop app installs through the Power Editor which cannot be created in the Adverts Manager.

2. Free stock images using the Power Editor

Finding quality images for your ads can be difficult and usually isn’t cheap. More often than not you’ll have images that need to be cropped or edited to work with Facebook ad units.

In the Power Editor advert section, you can upload your own images or use Facebook’s collection of stock images. There are thousands to choose from, they are all high­ quality and best of all, they are free:

When choosing your image, click the stock images tab and use the search bar to find your next advert image. Keep in mind that not all pictures meet their ad policies, for example pictures that contain more than 20% text may not be approved.

3. Exclude people from your targeting

One of the biggest gripes I have using the Adverts Manager is the fact that you cannot exclude people who have certain interests. For example, if you’re serving an advert promoting beef burgers, it would be ideal to exclude anyone who is a vegan or vegetarian.

When creating an ad set through the Power Editor, you’re given the option to exclude people from your targeting and have the ability to create clauses to really sharpen up who sees your ads:

Not only does this ensure the audience you’re targeting is more defined, but you’ll also save money as you won’t be serving ads to the wrong people.

4. Add call­-to-­actions on organic posts

When you create an organic post on your business Page, you cannot add a call­-to­-action button. There is also no option on the Adverts Manager to create organic posts, you can only select an ad objective.

In the Power Editor, if you click the Page Posts tabs you can create organic and dark Facebook posts. After clicking the + Create Post button, you’ll have the option to add a call-
to­-action to any of your Page posts, and be able to create carousel and offer posts without having to pay to promote.

These post types will only been seen by your Page followers unless you decide to promote them later.

5. Bulk editing

This feature is of great use for marketers and businesses who often run a number of unique Facebook campaigns. After the recent updates, it’s now easier to bulk edit all your campaigns at once.

You can change the status, ad options, targeting and even the ad image midway through your campaign. Once all your changes are made, just hit the save changes button above.

Summary

There is a steeper learning curve with the Power Editor over the Adverts Manager, but as you get used to the layout and features it becomes very easy to use. If you want to make the most of your Facebook marketing strategy, you’ll want to take advantage of all the features the Power Editor has to offer.
